Brett entered into the insurance field in 1997. Being self employed and having the ability to help people maintain or regain their standard of living is very rewarding to him. As an agent he has always put his clients’ needs first. He will do what’s right for his clients no matter the cost. His outward focus is evident through his continued service to his church and his commitments to the St. Jude organizations, Camp Rainbow Gold, Ronald McDonald House, and Wounded Warrior Project. He also enjoys coaching and fundraising for youth sports. Brett is a total Idahoan in that he engages in many outdoor sports; fly fishing, skiing, golfing, camping and hunting. He is married with three children. His favorite quote is, “A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” Winston Churchill.

While earning his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry at Boise State University Christian began working for Brett as a Customer Service Representative. After graduation he decided to make a career at Boise River Insurance, and became licensed in 2016. He knew it was the right move because enjoys meeting new people and serving their needs through integrity, honesty and hard work. Christian is a Boise native and enjoys golf, fly fishing, baseball, football, e-sports and hockey. His favorite team is the Arizona Coyotes of the NHL. His ideal vacation is a trip to the mountains to camp and fish, surrounded by the friends and family, for which his is most grateful.

Rachel began her insurance career working for a local Treasure Valley agency in 2005. She has since spent her time helping Boise area families get the best service, coverage and benefits available. She enjoys taking the time to educate her clients about their insurance protection needs and treats each of them like friends or family. She brings vast experience and knowledge to the Boise River Insurance team and looks forward to helping serve their client’s needs. Rachel and her husband, along with their two active children, enjoy participating in sports and taking advantage of all the recreational activities Idaho has to offer.

James joined Boise River Insurance in February of 2009 and created the James Stocker Group. After starting his insurance career at a large national company that could only offer insurance from one company James realized he could better serve his clients as an independent agent representing several companies. It was the best business decision he ever made. Now rather than trying to make everyone fit with one company he is able to match clients with the company that is right for them.

When working with her clients, Kayla’s attention to detail and kind heart are her greatest assets. She’s been assisting her insurance clients for two years and is driven by her motto, “In Omnia Paratus,” Ready for Anything! Having been born and raised in Boise she naturally enjoys hiking with her husband and black lab, Simba. She also spends time with her extended family, likes to watch movies and read. Kayla has served many meals at the Boise Rescue Mission and has traveled to the Philippines as a volunteer with Wipe Every Tear.

Amanda joined James’ team in 2017 and won everyone over with her friendly, understanding nature. Prior to Boise River Insurance she worked in other service-related positions; administrative assistant, customer service, pre-school teacher and bank teller. It’s easy to understand why she’s good at what she does. Amanda moved to Boise from Sunnyvale, CA, in 1990. She enjoys reading, games and puzzles, cooking and baking, and spending time with her family. She will celebrate her 30th wedding anniversary in 2017 and has two adult children. Amanda’s favorite saying is, “Love is stronger than hate.”

Steve began his career as a licensed agent in 2001 and has been with Boise River Insurance since 2009. Prior to becoming an agent he worked as a regional manager for a food company here in Idaho. His goal has always been to work in a profession that allows him the opportunity to meet new people and to help the people he works with. The insurance industry is the perfect setting for helping others find solutions to their unique situations. He enjoys spending time with his wife, listening to music and grilling a great steak in his backyard, keeping physically fit, traveling, and attending music concerts. His wife Cheryl runs a dental office in Meridian. They have three children, and one grandson.

Angie cherishes the lasting relationships she has built through serving her clients. She has worked in the insurance industry for 12 years, and is passionate about educating her clients so that they truly understand the policies they purchase. Angie, her hubby of 13 years, and their two kiddos moved from Wyoming to the Treasure Valley in 2016. They enjoy hiking, swimming and summer bar-b-ques together. She records their adventures through photography. Angie’s motto is to remain friends after a claim, and that circles back to education.

Paula began her insurance career in 2012 after many years in the floral industry. She holds herself accountable to her clients with dedicated follow through. She also serves our community through the Ladies Ministry at Calvary Chapel in Nampa. She was born and raised in American Falls. Today she is married with seven children. She directs her creative energies to crafting, crocheting and gardening. She also enjoys a great bike ride.

Loretta began her insurance career over 25 years ago. She was born and raised in San Francisco, California. She is married and has one son. Loretta began her insurance career specializing in Worker’s Compensation Underwriting. In June of 1999, Loretta had a great opportunity to transfer to Boise, Idaho where she has continued her insurance career and obtained her license in 2002.

In March 2018, Loretta joined Boise River as a licensed insurance assistant for Steve Bertsch where she continues to provide excellent customer service to her clients and has recently become an Ambassador for the Meridian Chamber of Commerce serving the community and building new relationships.

Loretta enjoys spending time with her husband and son, loves cooking, dancing and watching football and is a big fan of The San Francisco 49ners and the San Francisco Giants.

Larry was motivated to enter the insurance industry in 2014 as he sought out a way to truly make a difference in people’s lives. Prior to insurance he channeled that desire through emergency services and the mortgage industry. He sincerely cares about his clients and strives to help them protect everything that is important to them. Larry was born and raised in Nyssa, OR. He spent 18 years in Jerome, ID, before moving to Boise in 2006. He has been married for 36 years, has four kids and two grandkids. Larry is a member of the Meridian Chamber of Commerce and involved with the Special Olympics. He is the published author of “You Can Change the Past” and is currently working on a second book. He is driven by his motto, “Make a difference today!”

With a strong desire to serve the people in our community, Travis became an insurance agent in 2003. He was well versed in helping others after having worked as a High School teacher and coach in the West Ada School District for 10 years. He continues to coach high school Football and Track, and volunteer and fund-raise for the Meridian Food Bank and Boise Rescue Mission. One of his proudest accomplishments is serving as the President and a founding member of Limbitless; a nonprofit organization that assists our adaptive citizens to become more active and mobile. He and his wife Carrie have four children, two grandchildren and a pooch named Guinness. Carrie recently became licensed and joined Travis in the insurance industry. Together they are committed to being responsive to their client’s needs. Travis’s personal motto is to always be his authentic self, and to never take himself too seriously.

Carrie was drawn to become a Licensed Agent after years of hearing about all of the amazing people Travis has met and served through insurance. Prior to joining the business she worked for 11 years as the Admissions Director at a local cosmetology school. Then and now she she thrives on helping people, and focusses on helping them to simplify their lives. Her other passion is her family, especially her two grandchildren. She loves to camp with family and friends. Carrie lives by the motto, “Just be kind, you never know what someone is going through!”

Ray entered into the insurance profession nine years ago, with a background in investments, real estate and public service. He has earned multiple production awards throughout his career, was elected as President of the Mountain Central Board of Realtors for seven consecutive terms, and elected/served as a Valley County Commissioner. People kind of like him, including his twin teenage daughters, who reportedly have caused his hair to turn grey! In addition to his family, Ray enjoys soccer, shooting sports, Jeep trail driving, mountain biking and snowmobiling. His biggest key to success is his ability to communicate with his clients, to understand their needs, provide them the right coverage and ensure their satisfaction when a claim is filed.

Brandt started his insurance career in 2023. Previously he was in the restaurant business for over 30 years. Brandt brings his passion for customer service and guest satisfaction into his insurance career. Brandt has been married for 26 years and has 3 sons. He is a native Idahoan and loves fly fishing, bird hunting, snowboarding, cooking, and spending time with family.
